SHARJAH BUSINESS WOMEN COUNCIL (JOIN US - AT FACEBOOK)


The Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC) is an organization mandated by His Royal Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and His Wife Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and Honourary Chairperson of the Sharjah Business Women Council to further incorporate women into the economy. An initiative by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industries (SCCI), SBWC was established on 27th March 2002


The council aims to encourage women’s contribution in the development process in the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular. The main objectives of the council include preparing women to enter into private economic activities and enhance their social and economic role. In order to achieve this goal, the council has formulated various programs that include conferences, seminars, studies and research workshops. Since its beginning, the council has conducted many events of great significance to established and aspiring women entrepreneurs and has been visited by women of substance from many nations worldwide.

SBWC offers women wider fields to develop their personal skills, opportunities for more creativity and improvement of performance in their endeavors. Moreover the council contributes in developing women-owned businesses through guidelines by economic and finance experts. The latest initiative of the council ‘Trendy Workshop’ is a series of workshops to introduce and guide women entrepreneurs to various SMEs starting from the age of 21. The workshops will be lead by expert consultants in the respective industries and financial institutions.

The current SBWC Executive Committee, is undergoing vibrant changes and putting in place a modern strategy to further develop established business women of the community and jump start fresh young entrepreneurs. The Council is to open to all business women and further invites professional/career women, graduates and students to join its business community.
